They have all tried it. From the Kardashian’s the Victoria Beckham it seems that every- other celebrity is trying their hand at designing. Some being more successful than others, not to mention the TOWIE lot. Horrendous.
The one celebrity collection though which has been a highlight of Topshop’s nationwide success is the Kate Moss range. It has been four years since her last collection, which was a major hit- completely selling out in stores and resold on eBay for sometimes for even triple the price. So there is no exaggeration to say that this years collection is eagerly anticipated and one of the highlights of the fashion year.
Although the collection is available to view on the Topshop website, it does not launch until this evening online and at the Oxford Circus flagship store. But in the meantime Topshop have provided fans with a teaser video.
Going from the images online it looks like the collection is of a high standard, design and material wise; although it is hard to judge without seeing the physical garment.
Most of the 38 pieces look quite wearable, especially for the upcoming festival season, with floaty kaftans and tunics being a bit of a theme, quite a fair chunk of the collection, dare I say it, looks quite unwearable (unless you are a supermodel of course).
This ‘maxi dress’, stunning as it is, is more like a ball gown designed for a bond girl. It is not really your average maxi dress as well as not having an average price tag. Although this is a designer collection it is still being sold on the high street, some of the prices seem a little steep in comparison to Topshop’s usual prices. In a way this dress sums up the evening wear section of the collection. These pieces have been designed by Kate and made for Kate. You would have to be a stick insect like frame to look even remotely good in the dresses.
